Essential Chicken Care

🏡 Housing & Space

Provide 3-4 square feet per chicken inside the coop and 8-10 square feet in the outdoor run. Ensure proper ventilation and protection from predators.

🍽️ Nutrition

Feed quality layer pellets with 16-18% protein. Supplement with calcium (oyster shells), fresh water daily, and occasional treats like mealworms and greens.

🥚 Egg Collection

Collect eggs daily to keep them clean and prevent broodiness. Most hens lay one egg every 25-27 hours during peak production.

🏥 Health Check

Monitor for signs of illness: lethargy, loss of appetite, unusual droppings. Keep the coop clean and check for mites regularly.

❄️ Seasonal Care

In winter, prevent frostbite and ensure water doesn't freeze. In summer, provide shade, ventilation, and extra water to prevent heat stress.
